Whilst work continues on Dubsy the time has come to start gathering parts for the overhaul of Shelton shed mate Hawarden. She needs a new set of springs to get the ball rolling, I have a copy of the original drawing - any ideas as to who can produce a top quality job ( at the right price ) ?.

No. But Owen Springs seem to provide most of the replacement leaf springs for locos, these days. http://www.owensprings.co.uk
I've also had some from GB Springs in the past. http://www.gbsprings.co.uk
I've had volute springs from Teste Spring Co. but don't know whether they do large leaf springs http://www.testedspring.co.uk
I'd be pleased to hear of other suppliers.

Dave Osbourne is the loco spring contact at Owen Springs, 07974 644652, they are slow to respond, try & get a fixed price written quote & timescale, in case the price of steel goes up during the time that they are making the springs..

Dave left Owen Springs in January. They are still in business doing loco springs.

There is a company in India who make springs for locos and with all the nessecary paper work that is required to go with them and i believe that they are also cheaper and quicker than some companies in the UK.
