A lone figure (my brother) examines the remains of Corfe Castle station in July 1972 with track lifting imminent. We could never have imagined what it would be like 50 years on.

Ouch. Is that a real photograph or is it an AI generated image? Either way the colour is really awful, at least in my opinion.

    Sorry for the negativity

Unlikely to be AI, the photo was taken by Chitiz’s wife:).

The colour depends on (1) Film stock and (2) Processing. Those of us who used AGFA in 1968 know all about colour balances hence would accept the colouring of this image

But that image looks digital, not film. And what I accept of a 1968 photo is not what I look to now.

But the photo is all of 5 days old! At least according to when it was posted to Facebook. (The creator just seems to like that weird high contrast style, judging by some of his other photos).

You can split the chroma image from the B&W image, manipulate them separately, then recombine. The result has this 'plastic' feel to it depending upon what you've played around with.

The houses behind the trees are Westerley Terrace on West Street (the old A69). The wood hut is the old bus shelter and the photo is taken in the former good yard and behind the camera is the site of the present day signal box/portakabin.

Just when you are getting stuck into your work some big thing comes along and disturbs you.

A totally unplanned image from this afternoon. I had gone out to try to replicate a landscape image from the railway's official photographer that was in Trackside a while back, but where I thought it was taken from was obviously wrong. Just stopped on the way back to see Manston pass.

That's actually true. They aren't full until they overflow.

And even then it may not be full if the balance pipe between the two tanks is a bit narrow:).

If this is true or not I don't know for sure, but two ex-drivers off the SVR both related that when 80079 was first restored the balance pipe was missing, resulting in a few embarrassing situations.
