Indeed it was and I was onboard from Reading!
Though I have very few pictures from the day as I forgot to charge my and my Dads camera batteries!
Both were flat before we got to Plymouth!!
Bittern was running with the second tender in the consist which drastically increased the miles between water stops

Sarcasm clearly as I am not an expert at all Martin and I don't claim to be either, just knowledge picked up from both reading as well as listening to peoples personal stories.

Nevertheless you asserted that something is "well known". It is indeed well known that locomotives with trailing wheels can be slightly more prone to slipping than those without. Apart from that, what "issues … regarding adhesion" do you believe were worse with other railways' locos?

Why all the animosity? Just let him have his opinion, he’s not hurting anyone. If you don’t agree with it, just scroll by as I have done.

Does anyone know if the water carrier will be in tomorrows consist? I assume not given that it was not used last year on this tour but worth an ask.

Thank you, are there two POB's then or can two locos share one?

Anyone at Totnes, be aware we will no longer be stopping there due to signalling issue. We'll be non- stop through the station.

30 up Dainton is good, be interesting to see how it goes up Hemerdon. From what I can tell it’s load 11 so 1 less than last year.

Nice run down. Problem with signalling in the Totnes area it seems. Anyway it was a pretty slack path all the way so local management got us into Plymouth early.

31 into the tunnel at Dainton and 31 minimum around Tigley. There seem to be speed restrictions in places like Ivybridge but overall everything was handled well.

Two castles (plus a jubilee) within minutes of each other along the sea wall and visible at the same time. Magic to see
