Thouroughly enjoyed todays event in and around Lytham & St. Annes. A small selection of welcome colour to an otherwise grey day! I09A8754LR.jpg I09A8760.jpg I09A8782.jpg I09A8787.jpg I09A8823.jpg

Thanks Victor. Kind of you to say. I was particularly taken by the two 'cherry red' Ribble Leyland's...both a symbol of my youth in and around Lancaster :)

The red D/Decker is the type I remember most.
Was it the 302 from Southport to Liverpool?

Were the Standerwicks classed as Ribble?

Those Standerwick double deck coaches could nip on a bit when they were on the London job, get the Midland Red coaches and the Standerwick deckers going head to head down the bottom bit of the M1 and it could get a bit 'tasty':)

AFAIK....Standerwick were or became part of Ribble, operating the premium inter-city coaching services. 302 was Ribbles Liverpool - Southport route and in fact, the bus in my picture was 'shedded' at Bootle garage for some of its operating life. https://rvpt.co.uk/leyland-pd3-met-cam-1775/
