I’m a glass half full type so I will assume that they have been quietly fitting CDL to some Mk1s until I see otherwise.

 

Tornado for 1st SSE?, I read somewhere it is doing 3 additional trips from ones that have already been advertised, and one of them is on the 26th June

 

Is there a water stop at Church Fenton this year on the outward leg please?

 

No, it is booked 15 minutes for water at Common Road Crossing on Strensall Common. It does stop at Fenton as usual on the return.

What was the loco on the SSE today? I saw the train leaving York, but couldn’t see the loco.

60163 seen from Starricks Farm in miserable wet and gloomy conditions, the A1 slips both sides of Borwick Bridge.

 

Thank you for going out for it on such a damp day.
Good job the diesel was on the back. I think Tornado would have struggled if it had to restart on greasy rails without a push.
