NYMR Diesel Gala - 12-15th June 2025

Diesel Gala visitors announced on the website - looks similar to last year in the sense that NYMR services will only run between Pickering-Grosmont with no Whitby services.

This must be the only railway where a Gala rover is cheaper than a standard days rover. I get they aren't running to Whitby, but as internal tickets aren't normally available it does look strange.

 

It's baffling isn't it? Three visiting locos, plus another that's staying for the summer. Two of them will I assume be arriving by low loader (50021 is landlocked at EOR, 33202 is technically rail accessible at MNR), so that's a decent five figure sum simply for lorries and movement orders.

37264 replaced 37418 on the 1035 Grosmont to Pickering Service for unknown reasons.

 

Its in Grosmont now looking at the webcam, so looks like it'll be on the 14:58 as per the roster.
