That did cross my mind but the way Unicorn was talked about threw me. I forgot there were two Guinness 08s.

 

Visited for the first time last weekend - attracted by the new DMU offering. Very impressed with the intensive timetable being operated, we had three round trips when we only expected one as we didn't arrive until 15:00.

Very welcoming and pleasant volunteer staff and was good to see the fresh canopy. The bubble car really suits this modestly proportioned line and I can definitely see a place for one here on a permanent basis.

The Bubblecar has proved very popular with both passengers and volunteers - thanks to LSL for letting us borrow her! We are running it on the next four Thursdays - two round trips at Noon and another two at 2pm from Wallingford. Four people travel for just £22!

Join us for a bargain Bubblecar ride June 19-22 to celebrate Rail 200. Just £2 return and we'll be running 0730-2200 on the Thursday and Friday - our most intensive ever service! All timed to connect nicely with GWR services at Cholsey.

 

Just bumping this back up to remind you it is on now! We had a very successful first day running 16 round trips - the most we think since the 1920's. It was great to welcome passengers who had travelled by rail from various parts of the country including Nuneaton, Stroud and plenty from London. More trains from 0735 tomorrow (Friday) morning when we will be running another 16 return trips with the 'Bubblecar'. Just £2 per person.

 

We're running another intensive service next weekend, 29th-31st August, for Wallingford BunkFest. It is a great free family festival held on the Kinecroft, which is 10 minutes walk from our station. There will also be beer and music at the station under our Victorian canopy. DMU 'Bubblecar' on Friday and 08 hauled on Saturday and Sunday. Easy connections at Cholsey with GWR.

 

Just bumping this back up as it starts today! We'll be running the DMU this afternoon from 2pm with top and tailed 08's on Saturday and Sunday. I'll be on the platform bar at Wallingford serving from 3pm until late today, so pop by for a pint of local real ale or cider. Live music performances on the train and at the station across the weekend.
