It is my understanding from a colleague, that the ORR saw the offending video of the poor behaviour on Beerex trains and made contact with the railway. The inspectorate reminded the railway of their duties.

Short of dragging people out the window or sealing the windows up, I'm not sure of a practical solution to this because it seems like the railways feel powerless to the former (or willingly let it happen) and get slated for the latter.

The LU 4TC has been used in Swanage before for galas and might be used again in 2026.
Not sure if LU had to fit the bars to get mainline approval? (picture from facebook Swanage railway, Credit Andrew P.M. Wright)

Looking at YouTube stuff from the SVR Diesel Gala, pretty similar. But then I guess the attendee base is the same.

Would only be one set out of 3 or 4 in use though.

The bars are to stop people headbutting tunnel walls on the underground. The toplights only open a few inches as well. It's an absolute sweatbox in summer as it only gets about a quarter of the airflow of a normal Mk1.
