Did you attend this wartime event? Have you attended theirs and others in the past? What shade of purple are you today?

Not meant for you but it's the way the quote system works I'm afraid. I was actually responding to a post that had already quoted you. I've been to wartime events at Bluebell, NNR and NYMR. By far the most serious incident was at the NYMR when a member of the "Red Army" turned up with a real rifle. Caused a bit of a stir until the Police arrived and took away the offending firearm. I don't think the chap meant any harm but imagine how outraged some forum members would have been if he'd actually shot someone. :smt003

Has anybody thought that the Bluebell webmaster might be away? The website has not been updated for over a week now...

    Regards,

    Dan

Well the alleged offending article has now been removed from the "whats new" page as far as I can see so Richard must either be around of have access to the site from afar.

The link i still there on the Whats New page, second item down, but instead of referring to a page of pictures about a spy being shot at Horsted Keynes, it just says "another page". So Mr Salmon has taken note, but has just changed the text not removed the link, or the content of the link.

Which must mean as someone pointed out earleir, that he really must quite approve of this execution cameo.

The invitation for him to discuss this on our forums remains open.

Were you not there at SP when I ordered a family off the GN Saloon and escorted them to the ticket office for a full refund and told them never to come again.*

or when the woman said to me, (in full GN uniform),

"Very pretty, and WHAT do you represent"?

    and I replied

"I MADAME am the Commander of one of Her Britanic Majesties Nuclear Submarines"

The 'titters' could be heard down the other end of the platform.

    [smilie=hi ya!.gif]

*Does any preserved railway want people who let their young darlings jump up and down on labouriously restored heritage equipment let alone a newly £3000 french polished saloon board room table? ](*,) ](*,)

Yout point is taken and yes I was there, however this is hardly good PR is it as that kind of behaviour hardly endears the punters to come to the Railway.
Without them there would not be any GN saloon and no dosh to restore it.

Well spotted Spamcan, I meant of course the summary execution of 50 POWs , after which Richard Salmon playing Hilts could be marched to the cooler!

Is this thread still waffling on?

Why is it now including personal comments about Bluebell staff - who does a great deal for the Railway both in the workshop and from home.

Whilst what took place may have been inappropriate, it was hosted on a non Bluebell Railway site by a customer. The link was submitted to the Bluebell site. I don't know if it is still there. Oh and of course the Bluebell cannot be responsible for the content of external websites.

I suggest that you write to the BRPS Trustee for publications and the customer service centre or call them on 01825 720 800 and then let us know how you get on. Then maybe thread can be locked!
