Interesting one today, the Southall - Carnforth ECS ran today with the maroon Mk2 set from down south going back to Carnforth, do they have another set somewhere as seems odd to be sending back up north when there is a RTC gig booked in down south on Thursday?

I understand that the SSE is well loaded on Thursday so maybe the swap is for that reason.

Once you take out catering vehicles etc, is the blue set longer than the maroon, looking at the Mk2's in both both seem to be 8?

Perhaps the AC actually works on the blue and grey set and as it has been very hot in the south, for what seems like forever, maybe it could be a better use of resources.

Blue/Grey set is 9 and we have 8 passenger coaches on the seating plan this week but the buffet in not CDL so is as the end as staff coach. DCE must be better loaded so needs the extra coach.

Planned for 20mph which is a bit odd unless it’s got a problem

Nearly 300 miles in about 11 hours (including a few lengthy stops) is a bit more than 20 mph.
