I'll aim for the earlier bus then to be in the safe side.

MN afternoon with 35006 being taken by 33111 from Norden, and 35018 arriving with the ECS from Southall.
No diesel and a rake of Mk1's, the ultimate railtour for @Big Al ;)

Very good advice there about the 40 bus and also though this time of year there are quite a few tractors and many cyclists that do not always help. One thing now though the 40 rarely leaves Swanage late as the bus that arrives in from Poole at say 1050 is not the same bus out at 11am its an empty bus from the depot/yard.

Having seen some pictures and videos of 35018's journey down South, is it just me that thinks the loco looks weathered? If so will certainly go nicely with 34070.

35006 was beside the coal dock at Swanage this afternoon.
Meanwhile, I think 34053 SKP was in steam coupled to a train in the bay platform. Perhaps a loaded train to continue it's running-in mileage?
35018 BIL duly arrived [tender-first] with it's support coach, a BCK (I think) and five TSOs.
Loco arrivals are now complete and all face the London direction.
A Maunsell tender and an ex-Chipmans water tank wagon are stabled in the Swanage Goods Shed road to supplement watering facilities using submersible pumps.
Not sure where the ex-Unigate six wheel milk tank wagon is stabled. It was at Norden but I haven't looked lately so it might have been moved to Corfe if any locos are scheduled to have layovers there.

And I hope it’s good weather for all the volunteers prepping the locos out in the open air.

I hope it's nothing too serious that would prevent it running all weekend

One of the bearer bars in the grate broke. Repairs effected and she worked the 16:40 before running coupled light with 34072 to Corfe ready for Friday’s fun to begin.

Having a peek at the webcams, both Swanage and Corfe Castle appear to be decently busy without looking overcrowded.

The only place that seems crowded is the footbridge at Corfe Castle which is full of ****s with cameras making it almost impossible to get across. Missed one train so far because of them.
