It did, just as planned. As for tomorrows move........it wont take a lot of working out what it is likely to be.

Thanks Peter. Yes, I've just seen what it is meant to be. Not too hard to work out what the only other mainline registered loco is at York at the moment!

That's only indicative of the TOC operating her, not who is going to the maintenance.

Colin Green was on the footplate so it looks like Rileys.

I think it would be a folly to not renew the contract with Riley. They have intimate knowledge of this loco as with their own Black 5's and have handled it's main line operation with dignity and respect.....

    -------- try again !

70000 seems to be well on it's way back to Crewe 28 mins early at Searchlight Lane so hopefully today's run will be deemed a success.

Earlier in dull and wet conditions :- passing the Kronospan plant at Chirk and after the stop at Coton Hill approaching Wellington.

Here she is, seen over a freight passing under Headstone Lane bridge. Headstone Lane.jpg
Edit: That is about the best frame from a video, which doesn't say much for the rest, but it should at least qualify as "interesting". Not exactly bowled.

When the freight appeared, the two of us on the Headstone Lane platform feared we were going to be totally bowled, but we were fortunate that the back half of the train had no containers. The shot over the unloaded wagons seemed to me a rare enough situation to be worth posting. A moment later the last wagon had passed and I should have had a better view of Britannia, but I hadn't bothered taking a tripod and my framing went all over the place.

Well someone has to remove and refit the coupling and connecting rods so that the wheel lathe centres can hold the wheelsets.

It is worth posting, most unusual and the flats cover less of the subject than a near side platform edge!
