Personally, I would suggest that "it" is also appropriate - both person and organisation apply.

Someone called me ‘it’ a while ago and I wasn’t very happy about that, so best avoided of people, I would suggest.

"It" is *not* appropriate for a personal pronoun - unless you really want to p*ss people off.

But either 'it' or 'they' 'd be ok for a company - which is what I guess @35B meant.

Had there not been a reference to "person" then you would be correct.

Perhaps 35B can clarify his intent.

In the context, that might be regarded by some as an advantage.
Which is the context I wrote in. The Washford decision may have been made by an individual, but it was also the act of a company, to which "it" is entirely appropriate. "Personally" was in the sense of "my opinion is...".

This was not a case of dipping a toe into the wider, more toxic, debate on personal pronouns,

I was trying to be a little more diplomatic about who threw the 7F out with the bathwater than focusing just one person even if HE was entirely to blame.

A lovely reminder of when the first leg of my journey home involved a 7F and elephants in the snow.
The Pendelino and the 387 unit afterwards are very much forgettable…

I will remember it for when I saw it on the S&D in 1962 and for many runs behind it in the MHR. On the footplate it struck me as the basic freight loco that it is. Responsive and strong. Not a lot of room on the footplate but handled well by the crew who knew exactly how to get the best out of it when it was run down. I will miss it

I remember doing one of the West Somerset Expresses with 60009 to Bishops Lydeard and 53808 taking over for the WSR legs and the loco put in a fantastic performance, especially in the return leg with a heavy train, the noise the loco made even towards the rear was impressive. Glad I got a bit more running behind it earlier in the year at the MHR.

Facebook posts by their respective railways suggest the Barclay has gone to Leiston Works, the Ruston Vale of Berkley.

Some historic film (late 60s I suspect) of "Kilmersdon" while working at the colliery, as well as footage of the rope-worked incline - that linked the collieries and the mainline - in use.

There's some information on the incline here: https://www.irsociety.co.uk/Archives/18/Kilmersdon.htm

I have also been watching alot of videos of kilmersdon and there is one question. I understand how safer valves are shooting steam out of the top in a dangerous situation but there are also sometime a couple of poofes shooting out the cab on some the videos but not like the boiler safety valaves. Why is this what danger is it stopping. I haven’t seen it happen on whiston or other popular engines

Only steam I could see in the cab area was from injector overflow, which can happen when starting or stopping injector or they sometimes 'knock off', and possibly from steam brake exhaust.

There's also the whistle which is mounted flat on the cab roof & seemed to be a bit 'leaky' at times.

The vertical spirt of steam is the almost certainly exhaust from the steam brake and can be seen on many Peckett locos when shunting, it exhausts from the steam brake valve in the cab and up a pipe to the roof. As for Whinston if this is a Austerity (?) generally the steam brake exhaust is under the cab footplate.
