If 27162 is restored by October 2010 I will be seriously impressed! Even more so if there are another two to be done as well.

The coach is actually only staying there en route to somewhere else.

Quite so! The coach has been purchased by the LMS Carriage Association from Quainton, the photo was taken there on 21 March when it was flanked by the Egyptian Sentinel and the LT CO. It is hoped to use it at Wirksworth after restoration.

    Cheers

So will I! How long has it taken the SVR to restore 7511 from a similar internal state? 9 years and £55000! Somehow I think 18 months is a tad unrealistic.

Maybe there is a very large pot of cash to allow this to be done commercially ?

Even with a large pot of money it would still be a tall order, imho. Not impossible, but it would take a lot of organising.

Not that long, but they were put out to contract and lottery money was involved.
