I have recently come across the following two wagons on the NYMR and would be grateful for any more information regarding these vehicles to enable me to improve the current captions. I have "googled" the web with little success.

11813 was built at Eastleigh in 1921, and renumbered 61024 (I think) by the SR. In the Fifties it was transferred to departmental stock and used as a cripple wagon for EMU bogies. Acquired by the Hexhamshire Rolling Stock Group in the early 70s, it has been on the NYMR ever since. It was donated to the NRM in the late Eighties, and restored at New Bridge a couple of years ago.

217315 is an LNER wagon dating from 1939, and was one of two identical vehicles acquired by the NYMR from departmental service (at Tinsley, as I recall) in the late Eighties.

There are (last time I looked) another five Lowmacs of various vintages on the NYMR, mostly based at either New Bridge or the MPD.

217315 was overhauled, retimbered and repainted by members of York Area Group of the NYMR during 2007. It was returned to traffic with the P Way dept Sept 2007.
904551 is the latest Lowmac to undergo work with new Oak decking, repaint and welding work.
Currently an LNER brake van, Shark, 2 Grampus and a GW Macaw are receiving attention from the small group of regulars.
Work is currently on hold on repainting of the 45 steam crane due to the amount of wagon work.
We only look after the civils working wagon fleet not the demonstration freight train.
The group also owns or has funded most of the P way wagons and ballast machines.
Any offers of assistance would be gratefully received (PM me for details)

    Hi
I have the following Lowmacs at NYMR. Can anyone confirm if this is correct? I suspect the two LSWR may be the same wagon?
    Cheers
    Steve

The two LSWR wagons are indeed one and the same. Isn't there also a GWR example at Levisham with a shocvan body mounted on it?

Also Grampus 988228 has recently been turned out. Photo available on the same site.
As for date of completion of the LSWR Lowmac 11813 this was turned out on the 8th Oct 2004.
Work continues on the Shark, LNER Brake, GW Macaw and another Grampus.

These vehicles as stated earlier are part of the working fleet not the demo freight train.
