Thanks for the time. For this year's posted times it was, the 8th fastest overall and the 6th fastest for "pure steam". Interestingly, despite running through Appleby at 55 mph, it was 34s slower than the CME (27 Aug) that started from Appleby (both 35018 + 11). Perhaps running early, by omitting the stop, there was no need to extend the loco.

The final 'Waverley' service of the summer, hauled by SR MN No.35018 'British India Line'. Seen passing Sheriff Brow Viaduct, crossing the River Ribble, Greengates and Birkett Common.

Those are the first drone shots that I have seen with convincingly synchronised sound.

Totally agree as if the sound doesn’t match or it’s plinky plonky daft music it’s a waste of time. Only thing with a drone is it’s limited to what weather conditions it can cope with whereas the hardy foot soldier will brave any weather :)

Very true but my point was it’s about syncing the sound nothing else and yes you need sound from the ground otherwise like I said it’s a waste of time just putting music on the footage .By foot soldier I mean walking all the way passed say Blea Moor and not just playing it safe because the drone isn’t available ;)

Thanks, it certainly takes a lot of perseverance.

Very true Steve. Without realistic sound it's just another 'TikTok' style video, which might appeal to some.

I think drones will be a contentious topic for many years to come (in the railway world at least, it's not a front 3/4 shot after all). But, having had several TV companies and railways asking for drone content specifically this year, I think they'll be around for some time to come :)
