Yes we made it to Hereford.

Numerous interventions by the diesel, so a complete a write off from a loco performance point of view. 41 mph around Dorrington, down to 15 mph before Leebotwood, then diesel really kicked in and we passed Church Stretton at 51...

Stewards still saying next weeks Lickey trains will be unassisted. I do hope so!

Is the return expected to still be at 1500 Sean?

I think the loco is being settled in. You lost five minutes on the restart from Craven Arms to Bromfield, downhill too.

It's uphill for a mile out of Craven Arms, took a while to get going. Diesel assisting again. Then awkward signal stop at Shelwick Jn.

I'd say unlikely to depart on time.
Even if the loco is serviced in time, they're messing around with TfW trains in platforms 2 & 3

not wishing to be too funny but with a lot of service trains stacked up you probably need to be out the way asap (in the nicest sense) If the loco was down to 15 on the climb and especially given recent rain and leaf fall it may have been wise to let the Diesel provide some extra assistance. What is the load today . water carrier, support, 7 VT coaches plus 47

Station staff at Hereford remain the friendliest and happiest anywhere on the Network in my experience. Very tolerant of a lot of enthusiasts there to watch rather than travel whilst still having to deal with a very challenging set of circumstances.
