    I have added the final collection of Kirtley Midland Railway locos,

    Apart from the first one, K think they're all Johnson locos. Very fine too.

    There you have me, I don't have a relevant book handy. There were quite a few similar classes. I think they're a mixture and you'd have to check up the loco numbers.

    77A looks like a 156 class, which is the same as the preserved 158A.

    No 77A was clearly from a different class to the other photos shown above, being double-framed with outside bearings for the coupled wheels. I agree that it looks very like the preserved No 158A, but the MR class/number lists suggest that it belonged to the earlier 70-class.

    Although not shown in the photos above, a second interloper has crept into the corresponding on-line "Smugmug" gallery at Photo 11 - No 93A was 800-class not 890-class. Both 77A & 93A are the pre-1907 numbers.

    I think the remaining engines in the gallery are correctly identified as 890-class. Under the MR 1907-renumbering, the class took the numbers 68-126, retained under the LMS. Described in Casserley & Johnston ("Locomotives at the Grouping") as "Kirtley Rebuilt Johnson Single-Framed".
