    Hello Folks,

Does anyone know the current status of the large collection of industrial narrow gauge at Emborough Quarry? Curious as to what the intentions are with it.

    Many thanks

Been a good few years since I last visited John Blatchford at Emborough. Working mostly alone he has created a very impressive set-up, with an enormous stock shed built from left-over concrete girders! I see that you are not that far away, so I would suggest trying to make contact so that you can visit the site, you will not be disappointed if you go.

the site is very interesting as it is an old quarry, with the Somerset & Dorset track bed running straight over it on an embankment and a viaduct, under which the narrow-gauge railway runs.

you can see the site and make out the railway and vehicles on Google Earth, co-ordinates are 51 degrees 15' 14.20 N by 2 degrees 32' 40.98 W, if that doesn't work, just key in Emborough and you will soon see the quarry.

    Cheers

    Alan

You wouldn't happen to have contact details, would you Alan?

Thanks - not sure why that didn't work.

Everything was for sale recently, last year or the year before perhaps. I'll see if I can see what happened
