A popular location for still and video footage at Selside Shaw, the first two of my shots were taken at Selside Shaw from land that has now been purchased by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, I spoke to one of there wardens today and he explained that the land is to be turned into a wildlife sanctuary so unfortunately will be off limits to the general public as from now,

The S & C must be your second home. Steve. Love the Scots; brought up 50's / 60's in Luton, all Scots and Jubilees. When can one come down south ? Should look good out of Paddington, and through Sonning Cutting.

I was talking to some people after the northbound and I looked up the timing of that freight. I had a feeling it might cause trouble if it was early and 46115 was late. Looks like I wasn't far wrong.

A good run back from Carlisle, scheduled for 3 stops, Plumpton, Eden Valley and Oxenholme GL, made just the one at Eden Valley where 3 came past, galloped the rest of the way in fine style.

Never a dull day with Scots Guardsman. :) If there’s one place that I would have loved to have been other than onboard it would be Horton station, the soundtrack through there was simply magical, running through there at 41.5mph. And working up a further 3mph till power was eased for Ribblehead. A time of 21:23 from Settle Jn-Blea Moor Box was posted.

Likewise, a very surefooted getaway from Eden Valley with 35 reached by Milepost 40. Also nice to continue uninterrupted to Carnforth.

Drifting down from Ais Gill summit this morning. I stayed around the S & C to photograph some afternoon freight and heard (from Ribblehead station volunteers) it was all running late due to the disruption caused by a lineside fire sparked by a steam locomotive
