That is good news. They have been doing lots of runs to try it so hopefully it won’t have any leaks and will run well. I hope the other one comes back soon and they run together

34028 seems to have failed with a post-overhaul snagging issue. 33111 replaces it on the delayed 13:00 ex-Swanage

Tomorrow's [25th May] all day listing for the Swanage Railway: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/...&order=wtt I'm not sure but I believe there is some sort of GPS arrangement in Coach C [9015 BSO(T) I think] which updates the Real Time Trains site.
Please note, the mentions of trains to/from Wareham are 'Q' paths only. They are merely "place holders" in the Network Rail Timetable to allow for running Project Wareham services when possible.
At the moment the Swanage Railway has yet to complete requisite authorities and other paperwork which have been delayed, in the main, by COVID-19 and related factors. I suspect further information about main line services will be announced when any further developments/news becomes available.

On a 25 mph line with short trains that's OK. Back in the day it would have been "interesting".

Looks a good system to keep passengers informed of train running.
Did the Corfe to River Frome DMU test runs happen?
No web railcam at Corfe and noticed an update.
'CORFE CASTLE - The router has failed - replacement ordered.'

A couple from the first and last trains today.
First train stopped just short of the shed
works site (reason unclear) and seen here pulling away again. The final train of the day departing a wet Swanage.
Loading appeared far better today with some children. Are some schools already on holiday?

It looks like a really good engine for swanage. I expect the manager wasn’t happy with the leaks on eddy stone but has a good idea getting a visiting engine in that will pull in the crowds.

Just out of curiosity, are the inputs to RTT done manually, or is there some automatic feed?

The Corfe station railcam is now back, presume the broadband router was replaced?
The Corfe station realtime information display might also use the router to update from the Real Time server?
Presumably there is also a 3g or 4g mobile data router box with the GPS box on the train to link the train GPS location data to the Real Time server automatically?.
Presume 3g or 4g mobile coverage is good on the line for this to work?.

SWR seem to have taken a further step on their trains monitoring how busy each carriage is to "improving customer experience".
    https://www.southwesternrailway.com...-information-to-help-enable-social-distancing
They were testing trackside 5g with increased data capacity on the Island line with a view to rolling it out to all their lines and trains. Also on board servers so passengers could watch some video films via WiFi. The need for onboard passenger WiFi on heritige lines will be low (but some kids and teenagers expect it now).

Things may have been improved but I think Norden wasn't good and then of course there's the cutting between there and Corfe - where a train can sit for a while when things go wrong.

    Thanks, checked the press release
    https://www.swanagerailway.co.uk/ne...on-for-passengers-in-a-heritage-railway-first
and it says "variety of mobile phone networks" so if one network has a poor signal will try another network?.
Presumably if a train totally looses connection the server will just add time till the train makes connection again?

I wonder where this sits with people?
On the one hand its great passenger information, on the other a big modern display, all be it in a 50's style frame does somewhat conflict with that 'step back in time' feeling that heritage railways are trying to create. Along with the creeping demise of Edmondson style across heritage railways, to me its part of a gradual erosion. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Bt then I've not seen the thing in the flesh yet.

A lot of guard training going on at the moment so probably a Pas-Com drill.
