Yes I am an active volunteer
I'm surprised that no-one has picked up more positively on some major developments recently announced by the NYMR-based LNER Coach Association. Two more carriages have joined the collection, ECJS Corridor third 377 of 197, one of the very earliest Gresley-designed carriages, with the other being from the other end of the LNER spectrum, Thompson buffet/lounge car 1706 of 1948. Perhaps the most significant development, though, is the taking on of t a 6000 sq ft industrial unit at Kirby Misperton Thompson on a 5yr lease )with an option to extend to 10yrs. This will provide workshop and storage space for up to three carriages at any one time.

The LNERCA has launched a fundraising appeal, backed by a generous anonymous donor, to raise up to £50,000. For every £1 donated the donor will match it with a further £1. For donors eligible to donate under gift aid this means that a £2 donation will be worth £4.50 to the LNERCA, so please give whatever you can to this appeal, which loses in early June, and help to get more LNER teak carriages restored.

Donations can be made via the LNERCA website, www.LNERCA.com, or directly by bank transfer (LNERCA Account No. 27410460, sort code 30-64#3-64, or cheques can be sent to the LNERCA treasurer, Mr. A. Laming, at 4. Orchard Lane, Sowerby, Thirsk, YO7 1NE.

Just to correct an error from the printed version of the LNERCA Newsletter, The bank sort code should be 30-63-64.
Many thanks for anyone who might be able to contribute to this.
