We might struggle on the 15th... we're going to have to make the long drag back down south to deepest Cheshire / Staffordshire / Derbyshire!!!!

    Saturday would be better!

Sorry I can't make it up for the first ARISE meeting and tomorrow's coal train day, very sad personal circumstances mean it is just not possible, but I'm sure that Firefly and 1764 et al will be supporting the cause.

Was less of an ARISE meeting and more of a beer drinking session!!!

However, on that basis it was EXTREMELY successfull and I think the decision was to hold the awards at the Foxfield Gala... Mr Secretary (P&JR)... The awards we decided on were...

Can I suggest nomination are PM'd to someone rather than posted publically on this forum. That way, as suggested on Sunday, we can have the nominations on Gala Saturday... and the Awards after the gala on the Sunday!

Well now, very nice to see we have finally made the national preservation press =D> Ok, so the writers are also very active posters on here.... still.... nice to see it being taken seriously, although Mr Healey might not think so [-X

Aside from that, was the definitive list of awards established at recent meetings?

Nice to see you got recognition in the current issue of Steam Railway.

Question though : Where do you stand on an industrial steam loco taking the identity of a long lost (industrial) cousin?

Can't see a problem as long as it's authentic. The main point of this group was to try and raise awareness amongst the 'If it didn't run on BR it isn't real' brigade and persuade them that actually industrial engines are just as interesting, if not more so for their diversity of makes, types, liveries, duties, etc.

On an aside I see that a correspondant in the latest HR talking about Victor and Vulcan on the West Somerset in its early years refers to them as 'Austerities' #-o What a thing to call the ultimate British Industrial!!!!

Can't realy see it being an issue as long as it's genuine. I have often thought it would be nice to run Henbury as Clifton at some point, seeing as she has Clifton's boiler on her.

    Bellerophon the thinking mans Industrial

I was hopeful the response would be positive, and glad it appears to be so.

Pity there weren't a few more members of ARISE (were there any at all?) on the trip with the Peckett on the East Lancs which was used tn illustrate the article in Steam Railway.

Time to publish a list of who is "in", would make a good follow up piece.

Bagnall 2623 & Dubs 4101 to open it up.

    Whiston next ?.

The Peckett trip wasn't bad to say that it was the first time it had left station limits since its overhaul we do have a nice small collection of industrials at the lancs that goes unnoticed it would be nice to host and ARISE event there at some point?
