Well why search to find it? We know what the result is. The stuff you’ve posted a link to has been and gone, it is no more, it’s pushing up the daisy’s etc etc.

Everyone concerned with the article has moved on, its now history, internal strife is nothing new, its how you deal with it that matters, in time, hopefully the Board of the WSR plc in time ,will change, old officers, along with their personal baggage will have moved on, either by their own choice or by the shareholder's and members deciding we need to change and voting them out,

The loco arrived in the Autumn and was used at EVR.It was going on hire elsewhere for Dec as not required at EVR (plan B was KESR but went into Tier 3 and as the low loader was already booked went to Tyseley for maintenance).
It’s booked to be working at EVR at Easter when the line reopens .

In the WSR's case there are serious concerns whether the railway will survive at all and, if it does, what its organisational character will be; in particular how future disagreements will be dealt with. But all we can do for now is wait and see.

Martin we all know everyone’s moved on mentioned in this article, it seems someone can’t just leave it alone.

The lesson I drew from more than one high profile case was that the way things were set up seemed to be almost designed to cause problems, however well the injured parties behaved which isnt the issue with the WSR

I wasn't aware that the Mid-Hants were covering the S&DRT's removal costs.

But why would the WSRA want to fund a loco that is no longer on the Railway? The PLC can sort its own mess out.

I agree on the first point but not entirely on the second, that to me seems to entrench "sides" when for the WSR to actually function as a coherent being it needs to move away from thinking like that. In an ideal world there shouldn't be "Plc problems" and "WSRA problems" there should only be "Railway problems".

On a similar vein I noticed that there is a Facebook group that shows news of what's going on at Williton shed. Great stuff, an outlet to show what's going on is always to be welcomed, even if I'm personally sceptical that a FB group is the ideal way to go about it. I digress. My main gripe was why is it necessary to loudly proclaim that it is "PLC WSR Swindon Shed"? I know it seems tiny, but it reflects to me how much work there is still to do towards "one railway".

In principle, I fully agree with you. In practice, I support that decision of WSRA given the current structure; it is for the plc to work through the consequences of the plc’s actions, one of which is that it has created a situation where it has a liability without an offsetting benefit.

For an organisation whose focus is the WSR to fund that without additional benefit to the railway as a whole would be very questionable given the purposes of the WSRA.

I look forward to the day when there is truly “one railway” and such fine distinctions are not required. I also believe that a key step in getting there in a sustainable way is for those involved to own the consequences of their decisions, and maturely deal with them.

It wasn’t so long ago on this thread that people were bemoaning the fact that the WSRA articles didn’t make explicit mention of the WSR and could therefore, at least in principle, allow support to range far away from the current line. And now they put in what seems to me like a very sensible condition of funding and people are complaining!

There will never be enough money to fund everything. So it seems perfectly logical to me for a support body based on the WSR to say “we are prepared in principle to help fund the overhaul - but on condition the loco works on the WSR.” It is down to the plc to work out how it can deliver that condition if it wants the financial support.

It may be that the Plc needs the promise of the support before it can deliver the condition....

I suspect that will only come about when all parts of the WSR are under the control of a single group, whether it be the Plc or its successor.
