OK so you build a brand new loco from scratch then couple it to a well used second hand tender.. Where's the logic in that. :-k

Just read in Railway Herald that Tornado is booked to do a test run on Wednesday: York - Milford - Castleford - Leeds - York. Can anyone confirm this?

Is it second hand? Reading the very informative article on the a1trust.com site, it's new. There is a long and detailed piece about the tender.

I think he was being ironic Victor, at the expense of the previous poster. i.e why would you do that?

It definitely still works - passed through Leeds station about 15 minutes early and got a through path in front of a voyager. non-stop through rather the 15 minute booked stop. Looked very nice for a tea-maker ;-)

Just seen Tornado on Flog It. (Never watch it) but it was made a few months before her press steaming at Darlington in August.

Oh yes, I never thought I would see the day again , but today I saw a new steam locomotive at Leeds city station. The last time I saw one of that class was in the early 60's at Leeds Central station leaving on the up Yorkshire Pullman.
Today gave an old man a great deal of pleasure. :smt023

I'm not sure these new fangled steam thingy's are up to much really. Passed through Leeds at 14:05 and didn't pass Neville Hill until 14:35 which is only 2 miles away. Even I could walk it in that time and I'm fifty years older!

    Did look well though.

Hope you celebrated in true style Victor - double pie n' peas washed down with plenty of Tet's (while you can still get it).

I wish there'd been more notice of Sunday's change of itinerary, (much easier for us to get to and a destination we've never visited) we'd definitely been on it. Instead we'll be in Ross-on-Wye for Mrs Sheff's b'day treat.
