Thanks John. Was hoping for the K1 but the Fives are always fun to be behind. :)

Always a Black 5 in the afternoon as it is the air braked set which the K1 cannot haul. The soundtrack is still excellent :)

Well I am very pleased to say that I have managed to book on the Jacobite for Sunday 25th October, having previously thought they finished on the Friday. With us due in the West Highlands on Saturday 24th, this is an unexpected bonus!

The Jacobite was apparently curtailed at Glenfinnan today - both trains. Due to flooding according to RTT.

Does anyone happen to know how serious the problem is/was?

    Thanks

Lots of flooding across the West Highlands today. A82 North of Invergarry was closed due to vehicles stuck in flooding, Rest And Be Thankful closed due to ongoing landslip concerns and Bridge of Orchy should reconsider the need for 'Bridge' and acquire a Port.

Just seen a mate's video of 62005 heading back to Fort William. The river at Inverlochy is only about 3' below the bridge girders!

Mallaig line inspected early this morning and cleared for operation.

Same cannot be said for the mainline. Landslip between Upper Tyndrum and Bridge Of Orchy, with line closed until end of day at the earliest.

62005 on the AM, 45212 on the PM this week. Both sounding in fine voice.

And unlike just about everything else I’ve photographed for the past 2 weeks, I’ve got both trains in the sun!

Well, a rather lovely few days up in the Fort this week. I do believe the sunshine is continuing today, but I've found I actually need a day resting after being sat in the heat for several days. Worth it....
