That's strange as the departure time given on the Saphos website indicates Shrewsbury depart 09:10. <BJ>

Record shots of 46100 reversing into Cardiff (about 20 min early!); only had the compact camera with me so not the best of photographs.
I've dreamt of seeing the Royal Scot running on the mainline ever since my Dad brought me a Mainline OO gauge model in the early 1980s. This was my first chance-it's been a long wait but even running in reverse, it was worth it-thanks to the people who made this possible!!!

Passing through Splott in Cardiff after departing from Cardiff Central this afternoon; this location used to be good before the wires went up and I thought that I could probably get away with video where photography was no longer possible at this location-an incorrect assumption!

The weather gods don't like me - glorious sun for the hour prior to arrival vanished behind a cloud bank within a minute of arrival.
....oh, and the loco coasted past, opening up again after passing the bend behind.

Very biased but a rebuilt Scot is a very handsome machine. Cheers for sharing people:)

My footage of yesterday's run, featuring the climb to Llanvihangel summit in both directions. The southbound run is seen from the hill behind St Michael's Church, while the northbound run is seen from high up on Bryn Arw. Enjoy! :)

Thanks everyone once again for posting so we can relive another brilliant day. The roar from the droplight in the 2nd coach beyond the support was deafening. It's our first main line outing with the Scot, having previously had a ride on the Mid Norfolk and a sighting at Butlins! She's off to Southall on Wednesday I believe.

Putting 2+2 together to make 5, if 46100 does go to Southall, I guess it will be doing the Sussex Belle. Would prefer the Bulleid, but the last time I did unusual bits of the South Coast network (Bognor and Littlehampton) with steam was with the Scot, so it would be apt.
