62005 and one Black 5 until Saturday 8th, then should be two Black 5's from Sunday 9th to Saturday 15th.

I would imagine 45407 is working the afternoon train this week as 45212 worked the afternoon train every day (I think) from the 15th July to 1st August meaning it is due a rest.

45407 certainly working the afternoon today. My uncertainty was due to, earlier in the week, the afternoon train was Class 47 hauled (reported by a friend who was travelling).

That’s sad to hear especially in these hard times. To travel to Fort William despite the pandemic and then find a diesel must be extremely disappointing.

I didn't think that there was a 47 stabled at Fort William, only 37s, due to line restrictions?

The Daily Record picture is interesting, given all the hassle about sticking anything out of windows on railtours.

Not exactly in danger of being hit by a train coming the other way though. :) Wonder what the resulting footage looked like. Be a laugh if the train wasn't in the picture. :)

There is usually a tannoy announcement about the viaduct and picture opportunities. The viaduct is taken at a very sedate pace for this purpose.

That said, last year I enjoyed standing at a door window (all limbs in!) from Glenfinnan back to Fort William and thoroughly enjoyed it and wasn't challenged. I certainly wouldn't recommend sticking anything or any part out as vegetation management seems a low priority on this line unfortunately!

With the majority of passengers being tourists I don't think too many people wish to stand at windows.
