Can anyone help with a BS or RAL code for the shade of grey used on BR unfitted brake vans and wagons?

Our Windcutter wagons have used a variety of grey colours and I think in BR days the different wagon works had their own variations........time for another livery debate!

Steve, I asked Nick yesterday and he has come up with these:-
    Freight Grey paint.
There was more than one hue of freight grey paint. On the WELTROL, I’ve used Williamson’s 810818226 ( BR28/code 5354) which is the lighter of the shades generally used. I know others have used RAL 7000,7004 and 7012.

No I do not currently volunteer
The BTC and British Railways used BTC Spec 30A item 30 Freightstock Grey a.k.a. BS381C 693 Aircraft Grey. After WW2 there was a lot of anti German feeling so I don't think they would have used colours from a German military specification, so anything RAL is incorrect.
