Plus I would imagine LSL would prefer to get some mileage under its wheels and iron out any snags off the main line at a depot where if they need to they can sort out any problems. before giving it a test run on NR , I would imagine that the light test will be Kidderminster to Crewe before it sets off on any loaded test.

I have watched 46100 on test today and yesterday.
It is making 6 return trips to Highley from Bridgnorth each day with the Gresley 8 coach set.
The crew say it has had work done to the loco wheels because of cracks and the tender wheelesets have required work plus the tender horn guides.
The blastpipe has had work done also. It sounded great, even on the easy gradients of the SVR.

At the time of its purchase by LSL, I can remember a poster, who said that this engine would need a lot of work , including the wheels being re done, to correct what he termed the poor work done previously, turns out he was 100 per cent right, as the engine has needed what has turned out to be almost another full overhaul at Crewe since. with much work done to correct driving wheel axle box and frame misalignment .
