Dream on, 10A got it to how it is today and it had better COME HOME to 10A in the same condition (fault free, clean, and shiny). If it doesn't...........be afraid, be very afraid.

Once they were helped to sort out teething problems all became good and why not? It's a fine restoration and the more that north west crews get to know the loco the more that they will come to appreciate it. After all we are talking about a relatively modern locomotive compared with all the LMS stuff they are used to. And even with steam traction the technology moved on from the 1930s to the 1950s.

And BIL plus Clan Line hold what I think is a unique claim to fame of being the first and last of the class to be rebuilt and continue to operate anywhere, never mind on the main line. (DoG excepted, of course! :))

Hope that both trips down south are trouble free and that 10A misses BIL enough to appreciate it even more when it returns.

Hmm... @Victor . Well it certainly was not a "cracker" on 23 Feb when it failed at Carnforth before departure of the CME and we all had the pleasure of a class 47 all day. And yes I know it can happen to the best of locomotives.

I'm still much looking forward to seeing it at the Winchfield water stop tomorrow. :)

Helped out by whom? I know all and sundry on here were suggesting that WCRC could not sort it and should give the loco to someone else, I wasn't aware a third party helped sort her?

And your point is Davo? If Pete Roberts or Spike Hodges are involved, to name two, those on board will have a cracking day to say the least!

Im sure that an Support crew would be looking after her, after all West Coast must have support based at Southall , and if they don't, i'm betting on that everyone that could be spared stowed away in the support coach who wouldn't miss the chance to see how she performs back on home metals for the first time since withdrawal in 1964.

No reason you should. But look at it this way. If you have two independent owners, each with a Merchant Navy to look after, do you think that there won't be any conversation between them over the finer detail of each loco? Get real, please.
