Got my tickets today we are pleased to announce that the pennine L.T.D. will be part hauled by a vintage diesel from Norwich to hellifield and from hellifield to carlisle either by 6201 or 45690 can anyone confirm which loco it will be hauling the steam leg of the pennine L.T.D. will the train be picking up passengers at Doncaster or is that just a Op stop on R.T.T.

Several people have already commented upon the likely motive power however have you thought of putting these questions to your tour operator?

If it is not listed as a pick-up/drop off on your E-ticket it will be an operational stop.

If you look at the RTC web site you will see that Doncaster is not listed as a pick up point. Therefore it's an operational stop only.

Just wondering about going all the way via Clitheroe Blackburn and Preston on the way back, is Lizzie out of gauge for Platform 1 at Carnforth?

That’s the only reason I can think of for it. Usually they are happy with going tender first to Settle Jn.
