Got this uniform supervisor blazer for a diesel gala, can anyone tell me was it worn with a waistcoat and what shirt was used in that era? I have the blue shirt with the BR logo patch on the arms is that correct? I also have the pork pie hat with the gold BR logo patch on it and the gold piping which is the correct hat.

No I do not currently volunteer
I don't remember any of our inspectors wearing a waistcoat under that 1982 style jacket and although the wearers of the blouson Railmans jackets of the same era had blue shirts and ties I seem to remember that supervisors wore a white shirt with the same dark blue tie with the double arrow on it, more than likely to differentiate them from the lower grades.
