Agreed Leeds is busy at rush hour times but this is Sunday morning.
I'm not on it, I hope it runs, and I hope it runs trouble free.:)
There's still nothing on the DPS site regarding Alycidon, that hasn't run since it went for the bogies changing.

For those that have booked on the Auld Reekie I do hope it runs as planned. Tornado is still at Wensleydale this morning and is supposed to be having a test run this week. As @Victor has said ALycidon hasn't run since the bogie change and surely also needs a test run to be recertified again. Nothing appears on RTT for either locos, but we all know that things sometimes appear late on RTT. What concerns me at the moment is no new date has yet appeared for the postponed 9th Feb trip and the other trip from the East Midlands on 24th Aug has disappeared from Ukrailtours site. Is it cancelled or postponed? It still shows on the A1Steam website.

The web site suggested a test run last week

No test run yet, I believe, and so I presume that this has to happen before next Sunday and must be a requirement of the TOC. You can hardly blame them for that expectation as pottering up and down a couple of heritage lines counts for nothing.

So Tornado is at Wensleydale. It is needed at Doncaster. Today is Tuesday and the ECML beckons. Perhaps an overnight loaded test run is on the cards, preferably sooner rather than later.

So far no paths in TRUST from Wensleydale between now and Saturday. Likewise nothing so far for Doncaster to Edinburgh on Sunday except LNER services. :Morewaitingisrequired:

No news from A1ST or DPS either. If this gets cancelled or motive power is changed at last minute peoples confidence in the A1 trust will be lost, I know some people who feel that way already.

As seats are still available I can't see this making the A1 trust much money if any, or is that me being sceptical?

    Fingers crossed it runs ok.

As we speak the A1 Trust needs a bit of luck. It's been a bad few months for them.
As I understand it there are seats still available in all parts except 1st class non dining.

Preparing to be shot down in flames, but think this tour should run with a rear gunner, just in case, for both legs.

Although Air Braked loco's will be freely available, a ECML debacle, even at the weekend, is something to be done without.

Consider yourself 'shot'! If DBC had any concern about the loco then surely they wouldn't take it out?

That's the conundrum, they may turn around and say no, just mentioned it for safety sake.

I was wondering whether a Deltic shaped tailgunner might turn up on Sunday northbound.

Presumably an announcement one way or the other re Sunday can't be too far off. They're not running the clock down are they?

    From FB

In advance of ‘The Auld Reekie’ railtour to Edinburgh on Sunday 3rd March we can confirm that No. 60163 Tornado will leave the Wensleydale Railway and undertake a further proving run before moving to Doncaster ahead of the tour.

Deltic D9009 Alycidon is also having a pre-railtour test run on Wednesday 27th February after a period of maintenance.

That's excellent news especially as, on the back of posts on here and reassurances from the A1ST, I made a late booking on this last week. For me the USP is the new route for Tornado (and me) from Doncaster to Leeds. Looking forward to it as whilst I've had two great spins between York and Edinburgh in the past with Tornado, the DB crews seldom fail to please and so path permitting, hopefully this will be the third.

Well Victor looks like you have not put your trust in the A1 steam loco society to go on the Auld Reekie, now its going ahead next weekend the 3rd March.

We can only hope that said 'proving run' goes smoothly. Futhermore, @Davo , I don't think @Victor has a lack of trust in the A1 people...merely exercising caution in a decision to book/not book.

After all the bad luck the A1 steam loco trust has had lets hope this one is not jinxed. Mechanics engineering can go wrong at any time and doesn't care how much the people behind their inventions costs to rectify the foul up. I'm booked on the Bard of Avon that's why I'm panicking about Tornado, I lost out on the C.M.E. with making the wrong choice on the 26th Jan bailing at Bolton rather than staying on the dam thing.

I hope everything re Tornado and Alycidon between now and Sunday night is 100% trouble free . No complaints from me, I made my decision and I'll stick with it.
