    I agree looks more LMSy to me. Looking closer you can make out the small guard's ducket on the front coach which AFAIK is peculiar to the Stanier coaches?

    This is the experimental blue which she received in May 1948, she has British Railways in full down the tender. This lasted until January 1951 when she got the normal blue until green in December 1953.

    I'd agree that the stock is ex-LMS in one or other of the cream / red liveries.

    I'm sure you know, Neil, that what's written on the back of photographs should be taken at best as a guideline!
