How many people have been out trying to get pictures of Scots Guardsman in primer. :-k
There were 5 at Scout Green today as a loaded test run was rumoured. How many more where along the route? But it was only that, a rumour, and it never appeared.... ](*,)

You may well be right in your opinion,BUt i would rather see a tatty mallard bursting out of a tunnell than a highly glossed dead mallard,do you disagree with that?
The reason a steam engine apeals is that in my opinion it activates all the senses not just sight,Any steam engine would have had several liveries in it's life and i guess that none were suitable to all onlookers all of the time,The paint is a today thing and can be changed at anytime. You cant see the paint job before you see the engine but you can hear it,smell it sometimes, old photographs and loco liveries only do one thing, that is jolt your memory into action.but an engine in good form thundering past you pulling 12 or more makes you live for today not yesterday,as i said i don't give a toss so long as the engineering is sound.

There are a lot of locos running in less authentic liveries than 6115's! (Flying Scotsman and City of Truro for a start), but surely the point of the overhaul is to see the loco run again, if the people overhauling the loco want to paint it pink, I'm all for it!

"For all I care they can paint it pink with blue spots."

What we say when we're absolutely sure there's not a chance of it happening. ;-)

This whole "guess the colour of the Scot" thing reminds me of being a kid and discovering in November what Father Christmas was going to bring in December !! Of course i was delighted with my gift, but terribly disapointed when the realisation of the fact that the suprise had been ruined sank in !!

What ever colour Mr Smith paints his machine, lets embrace the fact that we can see a Scot where it should be, doing what it was designed to do.

    Kind regards,

    Matt Curtis.

Could this be a scots guardsman move?

70013 is pencilled-in for Th 17th, and various comments suggest that getting her ready by then will more than enough work for the Loughborough team.

5690 is quite likely, I suppose. (I hope the rumours are wrong and she's still in LMS red!)

Has 48151 had an after-dark run to check the spark arresters yet?

But we're all hoping it's SG, aren't we?

BTW Any date for 6100 to move to Bressingham yet?

This running under sector 50, which i believe is WC Railways so this may be the trial for one of their locos. I m not saying it is 6115 but WC appear to be planning to run a ECS move on this day, so may be of some interest to you all. There is no consist in TRUST as yet.

So you mean if the path is still there on the morning of the run, then it's a good possibility of it running? :-k If so let us know, I know someone who lives in the Blackburn area who would go and get some pictures.....

Yes i will keep my eyes open on Friday morning. However i note on 1 line up that can come from TRUST, (head code enquiry), the service does not show cancelled as yet. My gut feeling is that something will run on Friday.

    I will keep you posted.
