West Somerset Railway General Discussion

The MHR is more local to me than the WSR so it can be visited as a day trip, the WSR is an overnight stay. I like both railways and try to do both their galas, but if they're on the same day the WSR will win out, no contest. (sorry MHR)

 

I think we've all got a railway like that.

 

The WSR features on the Antiques Roadshow again this coming Sunday at 8pm on BBC 1. Must be a second part to the Episode that was previously shown as it says it is a new episode.

WSR featured on C4 news tonight as a backdrop to a piece about Brexit and the ConFlab at no10.....

 

DId not see the C4 news but the WSR has some experience of resignations and con-flabs.

I don't know if this is 100% right but as it may be of interest to others I will post it

I heard earlier that the visiting southern loco in August will be based at Lyd, it has tours to do weekends but Tues-Wends-Thurs it should be allocated on the 1115 out 1515 rtn diagrams, as I say not sure it gen and as I'm not a steam bloke I just thought I'd pass it on for all to chew over

 

I too understand that is the plan - but - as ever, many things to sort out before confirmation is received.

Nice photos. Does anyone know if the King will be in action on either the 19th or 20th July? I can't find a loco roster on their website.
