OK folks. Operational or under overhaul steam loco status as I remember:

Lord Nelson - steam testing under way at York

Sir Lamiel - at GCR in traffic

Flying Scotsman - under overhaul in the Works

Oliver Cromwell - rebuild near completion GCR

T9 - at Bodmin, awaiting start of work

Beattie Well Tank - operational at Bodmin, due to move north to York for 1968 and all that

City of Truro - operational at GlosWarks

Super D - operational at NYMR

    04 - operational at GCR

TVR No.28 - under overhaul at Dean Forest

4027 - due for overhaul to continue on private site for GlosWarks

Replica Rocket - under overhaul/new boiler

Eustace Forth - operational at York, minor boiler work to be undertaken before return to Locomotion

So that's 13 locos - more than we've ever had out before. Not to forget 4771 Green Arrow, due to arrive at Shildon this weekend.

I may have made a minor mistake in that some locos will not be in traffic at this moment in time due to repairs, washout etc, so don't quote me, but in general terms, this is the status quo. Diesels next if anyone wants to know.

    Thats fantastic Anthony many thanks.

A simple question, where abouts is Eustace Forth stored? I never see it in the yard or anywhere!

how much longer has eustace forth got left on its ticket? when it has finished, on the like-for-like premise, could you return woolmer to steam? it looks amazing following its cosmetic restoration.

could you give us an update on TVR 28? it's a really fascinating engine with so many owners- TVR, GWR, LMR, NCB and BR before preservation. think of the liveries...

Am i right in saying the overhaul is going to be done at Barry .and about the livery's i don't think it matters as long as it looks OK next to the kwvr 1

Eustace has another year or so on its ticket, when it is retired, it'll probably get a ten yearly oeverhaul - it's a more modern, known and useable machine than Woolmer. Mechanically Eustace is spot on, Woolmer is an unknown quantity mechanically and boilerwise not having run since 1954. Plus we've only just done Woolmer, so would be nice to have it on display for a bit before we did anything to it.

As for TVR 28, I would hope to have an update in the next week.

    Cheers
    Anthony

The Beyer is a grand little engine, does everything we want of it. It has 5 more days steaming this month, then when Eustace comes back, we will think about letting you have it back!

Thank you for that. The NRM is really pulling out all the stops for her and i'm glad since with all the problems she's had in recent times and the amount of owners she's gone through i for one am grateful that she is finally in very safe hands. When she's back i think we can guarantee that she will be in far better condition than she has been in the past since the complete rebuilding must have highlighted any potential problems. To be honest i really don't mind you at the NRM taking your time since there is no need to rush her in the slightest.
