Look forward to whatever's taken. I'll be hopefully thawing out in a carriage. Suspect there's about an hour waiting at Heaton Norris/Denton for water in both directions.

Thank goodness. Double checked the times, and I can have what passes for a bit of a snooze until 04:00, then catch a later service train and waltz across the centre of Manchester at the more sensible time of 06:55, reaching MCV at around 07:15. Job's a good 'un.

That's good news. Now to work out what to do in a cold, pre-beer o'clock Buxton.

Still nothing on RTT. Weather for Buxton, heavy snow showers and feels like -9C. On at Preston coach G/31F.

Should we be worried about the lack of RTT?

Then you may have another GPS nearby although a max of 20 mph up to Hindlow wont tax the brain too much!

With the decidedly uncertain forecast, my problem is getting over the hill to Hebden Bridge, which is always the first in the area to block should there be any significant snowfall, so all being well I should board at MCV. In G/35b, I'm bringing my ear trumpet !

Has anybody got any news regarding tomorrow's tour as not had any news regarding a cancelation and one person is saying NR have stopped it because of pathing issues but had no official update yet.

That makes no sense. The RTC could only give us confirmed timings if the path had been sorted out. So whilst I agree that the absence of RTT info is strange, NR doesn't do paths at this late stage.

I have a vested interest as I'm just starting a journey from down south up north for a bed so I can be on it!!

Well I have a contact who works for network rail in signalling, I have asked him if he knows anything about it. Awaiting reply from him.

This train is running. The Notice was delayed, awaiting some internal NR clearance paperwork, but the timings should be available in all the usual and unusual places.

Mr Moyles - please stop posting unfounded rumours or gossip - again.

Thanks JS; we have recently arrived in Preston and would be rather hacked off to put it mildly if the tour was cancelled at this late stage. Looking forward to tomorrow but not the early start
