They've run round and are bunker first on the return, 9466 leading.

Good run from Narborough to Nuneaton. Return seems much more 'together' than the outward trip. Helps that I am now in second passenger coach from front getting pelted with ash.

How about an express passenger tank engine Bob, rather than those shunting engines?

It was a great day out with the panniers today. There were a number of feisty periods from up front and even on the challenging steep sections of the line they were up for it and performed well.

Probably most thanks should go to the two crews: Ray Poole and Dean Morris plus Phil Cowley and Alistair Meanley. It's worth remembering that they were on duty all day and on a cramped footplate for the best part of nine hours or so. I gather that it was a case of chasing water from stop to stop so it couldn't have been easy and was probably very tiring. As Ray remarked, it was quite a difference from his very enjoyable southward run over the Marches with Galatea on GBX a week ago.

The pair looked great from the lineside yesterday. My favourite scenes were the passage through Hinckley (outbound) and the duo powering over
the viaduct at Stapenhill on the return. Look forward to their summer outing later on. Enjoy :)

Brilliant day out - fabulous performances from the Pannier Tanks and another success for VT. A very nice bit of railway as well over the Coalville branch. All in all, a grand day out :)
