Just out of interest for us at ABTRA, I was looking to compile a fairly comprehensive list of locos & rolling stock surviving in preservation that would have worked on the Blyth and Tyne area systems? Got some obvious candidates such as 49 & the two 38's at Tanfield. Would be interesting in making contacts if and when our plans come to something (fingers crossed!) thanks in advance! Ryan.

ABTRA? New acronym to me - could you 'flesh out', please?

We have a Ashington Colliery wagon at Bowes. Used by the NCB for testing weighbridges.

Must be some of the Cambois Class 37s in preservation?

I believe the Stephenson Railway Museum in North Tyneside have a couple of Ashington Colliery steam locos in operation.

Various class 14 diesels. I think most of those preserved either came from Corby or Ashington.
