Some shots we made at the Continental Divide between O'Hara Road (British Columbia) and the Monument at Divide (Alberta border). The old Highway 1 is now a cycle and hiking track all the way to Lake Louise, parallels the railway for the first 5 miles or so. One other shot I have not included is a train passing rail borne maintenance vehicles, awaiting a slot to get up the single track with passing loops, to do "work". I have a scanner to listen into what's going on both on "road" and "MoW" frequencies, gives you the heads up on what's coming at you, or not if that's the case. But listening to what goes on between Dispatcher, train crews and MoW crews is a real lesson in co-operation needed in difficult conditions you find here in the mountains. Put onto that night and winter operations, with snow like you don't believe, and I have the utmost respect for these people.
As you say, now that's a real railway!!
