Having covered the Mallaig Extension here are a few pictures you can't do without the charter, unless you go for the twice a year stock movements even then many of these locations would require some serious yomping over some very unfriendly terrain. Rannoch Moor is a rather forbidding place and I have included some to demonstrate the extremes of weather encountered up there.
Anyone who was there will remember the year of the 70mph winds, I got off the train thinking it's a bit breezy but not that bad, then the train moved out of the way!

    Great memories John'

Not sure I can add much to yours but here's one I know only a handful of us did.

Light engine , running tender first , from the dark side - how many more 'rules' are there to break ? Oh , and spot the Buzzard.
    11th October 2008, , 45407 returning to Corrour.

and not long after 76001 skirting the Sword Loch.

I thought you might post something Scot, I left out 76001 as I think I've posted one on another thread somewhere. As for the dark side on many occassions all sides were dark, the B&W shot of the Black 5 was taken at 5000ISO

I remember the day of the 70mph winds and the strange but wonderful light at Corrour. I elected to do sound of one run past. Trying to stand up and not have my mic blown from my hand was a tad difficult. Certainly rested Rycote's claims as to the efficacy of my wind cage and muffler. :)

I remember that superb day, one of the earlier charters, I'll get round to scanning the slides one day. The only time I've ever seen sun in the Horsehoe

Not Rannoch but the West Highland Mainline, sadly having only done the 2013 and 2014 bashes (I'm under 20!) currently my only decent sunny shot of steam on this section of this wonderful railway. Maybe have more luck with the annual SRPS tour on the 29th October than usual! 44871 and 45407 work away from Bridge of Orchy with the Cathedrals Explorer.

Arguably one of the best days we've had on the FW steam bash. You may recall Bob that I blagged a lift with you to this position. For those who don't know, the shot is from a hillock alongside Cille Choirill church, up a little lane 2 miles east of Roy Bridge. A wonderful location that I've visited about 3 or 4 times, just for the views. Here's a few shots of the church and graveyard at other times…...
