The local media seem to be getting informed, the Advertiser in Swindon noted that one person who would not be happy seeing Flying Scotsman past Swindon would be City of Truro in the Steam museum due to their long standing 100mph rivalry's.

 

Good! Glad this shoving business is becoming more in the public eye.
The more publicity the better.
Perhaps people will sit up & listen. Not sweep it under the carpet as is done many times on here, where it is a hanging offence just to even mention it.

 

Yeah, the readers of the Abergavenny Chronicle are the ones to sort this out!

 

What I meant was that this could be tip of the iceberg, once one paper has it (albeit a local one), it could reach far wider audiences by other papers including nationals.

And if the other media get hold of this classic bit of journalism, what then? Will that suddenly remove the operational need to have diesels on the back of trains, which has been explained *so* many times on this forum? Do you seriously think that train operators are putting diesels on the back just for the fun of it, or just to wind you up?
