Not sure about this. As I recall the 2004 London Plan had ambitious affordable housing targets which were widely criticised at the time by Conservatives and others as unachievable. However, I think they were very nearly realised. Don't forget that if it were not for Livingstone, the Olympics would not have come to London and the reinvigoration of the East End would not have happened.

Shall we have another attempt to return to Flying Scotsman?
For those of us not able to afford a mainline steam ticket, given that timings aren't being made public and so hard to get a viewing, what heritage lines will FS be running on this year?

Sorry but you are wrong, selling social housing did nothing apart from giving people the opportunity to become mobile and having a monetary stake in their house, a tenant becoming an owner doesn't change the total housing stock. How do you suggest rents are driven down? Market forces apply the rent charged is what the market will stand otherwise the property remains empty. Sorry but that's how it works.

Look at RTT a day before the run, the times will almost certainly be there.

Are we allowed to discuss routes? or are they just as banned as timings?

    Probably safest not to...
Mind you, it doesn't help when it's all in the redtops.

Why not repaint it matt black, re-number it 103 and remove the nameplates. Joe Public will think it's just one of Ian Riley's Black 5's and not bother going out to see it. Result - no mass trespass and N.R. will be happy!

Essentially at some point between you reading this post and the demise of civilisation as we know it, a train, which may or may not be hauled by a steam locomotive, which may or may not be an A3 (number withheld for security reasons), will probably pass through some stations, maybe in some sort of loop or "out and back" scenario along a line which is likely to be open to traffic. These lines could include, but are not limited to, ones which are to be found within the confines of England, Scotland or Wales, or indeed multiple thereof.

I think you may be getting a little too specific there, The FS Stasi may well be paying you and the family a surprise midnight visit.

I think we can safely say it won't be running in Ireland, anyway.

Not so sure - do you not remember when it was regauged to run on broad gauge in Australia? There was a comprehensive report in Steam Railway in the 80s. Got a feeling it might have been an April edition... ;-)

Your mention of midnight clearly breaches restrictions on the release of timings and has been reported to the appropriate authorities.
