I think that is proof, if proof were needed, that they have got the price about right - if anything they may be a bit underpriced... ;)

I remember when it was billed as the people's engine, so now it's turned into the people with fat wallets engine, that trip is more expensive than the Bellmond Pullman and my Spring holiday. I would call it a complete rip off

You could say the same about the VSOE, around £1500.00 for a one overnight trip on the train from London to Venice (one way), but the fact is they don't seem to have any problem filling the train. I've never been on it by the way!

as its likely to be about for 7-10 years on mainline I cant understand the rush to spend £450 on a one way journey(RETURN DIESEL HAULED).

Travelling London-Venice all inclusive in what amounts to the Ritz Hotel on wheels for £1500 seems a bit of a bargain to me compared with this.

You are paying a premium for the privilege of being on the first trip. Not really my cup of tea, but if they sell out, by definition the price was too low ...

As @Victor said, if all you want to do is go behind Flying Scotsman and aren't fussed about specifically being on the first trip, just wait a few months.

This appears to have been posted very recently...

So is this the second test of today; a loaded run?

I'm surprised the snifting valve is still leaking, though it seems to be less under acceleration. Maybe it's intentional...

At least you get an en-suite bathroom at the Ritz! Also, VSOE is not all inclusive. Food included but most certainly not drinks and I would imagine the bar bill could stack up nicely.

    Good man! :)

As with most things in life one persons rip off is another persons good value.
