Timings for this West Coast excursion are now on RTT: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U10636/2015/10/03/advanced

An early (pre-dawn) start! Is it really steam all the way? I suppose as it takes 7h 20m, it must be! One of the stops at Knottingley West or Pontefract Monkhill could be for water.

There is a 5Z16 path in from Carlisle to Carnforth Steamtown after the tour arrival, and the tour return to Cleethorpes runs via the Tyne Valley, with no water stops/stops to replace steam with diesel - so I'd suspect steam one way.

Stock also appears to be coming from Southall the day before, with no other associated WCRC movements.

I had heard a rumour that the train loco would be 61306 - which is currently based at Southall - hence the possible reason for this move ?

Times for the ECS show max speed 95mph, if 61306 was involved it would be 60mph, 75mph max. But then ECS from Doncaster to Cleethorpes on Saturday morning shows timed to 60mph. Interesting!

The tour is scheduled at over 7 hours to do 18o miles. Assuming a 60mph loco perhaps Milton Keynes have broken their abacus again.

Still no paths on realtime for a loco move to Cleethorpes or Hellifield so I wonder if the steam starts at Hellifield with the steam tagged on the rear of the Lune rivers train to save a path .

Uksteam showed the Lune rivers going over Copy pit so Realtime is surely the gospel so to speak although it is not always correct

Times now showing 95mph from Cleethorpes and reversal at Doncaster, rather than 60mph and going via Knottingley. Loco change at Donny or Hellifield?

a 5Z15 Carnforth-Doncaster has appeared for this evening and has a water stop at Hellifield (or so it would seem) so with any luck it will be steam from Doncaster,5Z15 may suggest 46115,but that could be way off the mark,it is a 75mph path though.

Having checked RTT there is no run over Copy Pit. The Lune Rivers tour 1Z74 Carnforth - York goes via the Aire Valley & Leeds to York as does its return.

It should pass this tour (from Cleethorpes) between Hellifield & Skipton, if on time of course!!

47746 & 47760 allocated to 5Z87 04:05 Doncaster CHS to Cleethorpes this morning. With the reversal at Doncaster in mind, steam out of Cleethorpes would be short lived! Expect a loco swap at Doncaster on 1Z87 this morning with 47760 (47746 should lead from Cleethorpes).
