Railway Heritage in UK

TBH I think you have to narrow it down a bit. That remit is rather wide and would include, say, Tiverton museum with its stuffed and mounted 0-4-2 tank and collection of railwayana to the large preserved railways such as the Severn Valley, North Yorks Moors etc and a host of places inbetween. That's before you start of steam, electric, and diesel operation on the main line.

I would doubt you would ever find a definitive list but

However, be aware that one man's preserved railway is another man's pipedream.

There are a number of schemes that come and go.

I note that Wiki shows the Folkstone Harbour line but general consensus is that isa non-runner.

Also site such at Tiverton do not appear on Wiki as it is not the main purpose of the museum to be a railway museum.
