I have been playing around on fotopic. I don't know if it has been suggested before or even already done, but I have created a community on fotopic with the intention it can be a catalogue of member's galleries should they wish to be included. As I enjoy looking at everyone's pics I thought it might be a good way to ease browsing through different member's galleries, as often I imagine I am looking at members images without realising it.

If you wan to be included on the community all you need to do is once logged into fotopic, click your gallery on the left hand column so you get a list of options below it. Click on communities. A list of any communities you are a member of will be displayed and below that, the option to 'find communities to join' This opens a window, select travel and transport, then scroll down to 'National preservation users photos' Beside this click join. Thats it. You can leave the group whenever you want. I have left joining open for now so nothing is needed other than clicking join.

The community is then viewable at http://natpres.communities.fotopic.net/

    Hope this is of interest.

(admin if this works well is it possible to use the board logo?)

Looks like a good idea. Just had a quick browse, liked the shot of 5407 as Riley1, Riley International Rescue. :smt003

Please can this fotopic community be put somewhere accessible on the site? It has disappeared further into the dark recesses of this section.

Have enjoyed looking at other galleries posted by other users of the site.

:smt041 I see that the Fotopic Community is growing fast now in excess of over 30 member galleries =D> perhaps now a direct link could be supplied as previously suggested. :smt023

Sorry, I've haven't noticed this question before, I have no idea why you were removed, I haven't touched the community settings since I started it it just manages itself. Having looked at my list you are there so either you've re registered or it was there anyway!?

I've just offered my attempts to the community.

Most are behind the scenes shots of repairs and the like. I'm not that good on the front cover pictures.

I've learned whatever I know about steam locos from the NYMR and NELPG and these photos are from what they have taught me. So this is my tribute to all that they have achieved.

How do I specify the photo that appears for my gallery?

Can I do this as a Plus user?

Just added my efforts in the field of black-and-white to the community.

This evening I finally, finally, finally got round to properly going through my (literally) hundreds of photos from the Llangollen gala and sending my favourites to fotopic. They should be on there soon - enjoy!

Sorry if this doesn't belong in this thread but how do I go about setting up a fotopic ite. I dont take many photos and most aren't amazing but there are some i'd like to share.

Sure its very simple but I am a bit basic when it comes to computery.

    Thanks in advance.
