    Good album Clive, I too was at Hatton Junction to start the day...I'm also in one of your photos at Bewdley!

    And some of us had a very good day out aboard. But we didn't get to see Alycidon much, so thank you those who photted and filmed.

    Some lovely shots of this tour coming on here it seems, or is it just withdrawal symptons with a lack of mainline action ?.

    I was near the back of the train, and surprised by the smoke as we left Victoria. Years ago someone told me the respective significance of black, white or blue smoke from a diesel engine, but I don't remember what those were.

    The smoke from a deltic is quite normal. They are 2 stroke engines and like an old scooter burn their oil producing smoke. .

    Normally blue smoke is burning oil. Black smoke is over fuelling and white can indicate water leakage into combustion

    @5944

    I was the Bewdley side of Northwood Halt . I did think about Trimpley but with children in tow went for the easier option

    Nice footage. Both locos complete masters of the task.

    My footage of 34027 Taw Valley attacking Eardington Bank with a heavy load of Pullmans and a Class 67. Hope you enjoy.

    Superb footage, and a reminder what a wonderful machine Taw Valley is, one of my favourites of the main line locos running in the 90s.

    Maybe a daft question, but what was the reason for the 67 being in the formation? Clan Line usually doesn't have assistance at this time of year, so a bit puzzled why D9009 would, or was it just to provide power during the section behind Taw Valley?

    67 was there to take the ECS back to Kidderminster, do the reversal drawnback into Kidderminster mainline so it could run to Worcester, and take the ECS in/out of Victoria, I suspect the Kiddy drawback was probably the vital one as to why it coulden't be left on the stops at Victoria given it required a NR approved loco.
